APTO re-introduced the identity of "home" literally to the office floor of Woonwaard. Not only the look and feel of a home was used, but also as a typology for the different settings of activities. For example the "living room" is the communal area, the "kitchen" is the space with a high brainstorm table, the "dinner room" as a formal area and the "bedroom" is a concentration and phoning space.
APTO didn’t only create the opportunity to economize, but improved the whole atmosphere of the Woonwaard building.
The fully flexible office working concept made it possible to reduce the number of office floors for Woonwaard. Their footprint increased from five office floors to 3,5 office floors (blue), which enables them to attract chain partners to move into the building (gray). To make the building of Woonwaard suitable for this multi-tenant use, we created a public entrance hall, with shared facilities, for interaction and meetings (green), as we call it “office hospitality”. Furthermore a shared boardroom and canteen are situated at the top floor (green).
