The first Uitsmijter opened its doors in 2019 next to the RAI in Amsterdam Zuid. After three years, we designed the second location on the Zuid As in Amsterdam. The concept focuses exclusively on Uitsmijters, celebrating this classic Dutch breakfast dish. The appeal of an Uitsmijter lies in its simplicity: two sandwiches topped with two eggs, ham, and cheese, made with high-quality local ingredients from small suppliers. A trusted product, perfectly prepared every time.

The power of simplicity
Accessible hyperspecialisation
Unlike other one-product concepts, the Uitsmijter is accessible to everyone, old or young, together or alone, whether a busy professional or a tourist. The interior design evokes the feeling of being at home at your parents’ house, enjoying a nutritious meal at the kitchen table after staying out late, or having Sunday brunch with your family. It combines pure nostalgia with a luxurious and modern setting.
Walk through the backyard
Everybody is welcome, just like at home. Whether you want an Uitsmijter on the go before work, a lunch meeting, or a late lunch after visiting an event at the RAI, the experience is relaxed and flexible. Just like at your parents’ house, you can enter through the backyard, order at the bar, and pay directly. If you are in a hurry, you can enjoy your Uitsmijter standing at the bar, similar to dining in France or Spain. For those who want to stay longer and watch some show cooking, there is space in the ‘kitchen’. If you prefer a quieter spot, you can move to the back part of the café. Eat at your own pace; it’s entirely up to you.
