The first Uitsmijter opened its doors in 2019 next to the RAI in Amsterdam Zuid. After three years, we were asked to design the second location on the Zuid As, also in Amsterdam. Serving only uitsmijters, the food concept is a homage to the classic Dutch dish with the same name. The power of an uitsmijter lies in its simplicity: two sandwiches topped with two eggs and ham and cheese. Made with high quality products from local and small suppliers. A trustworthy product simply made perfect.

Accessible hyperspecialisation
Unlike other one-product concepts de Uitsmijter is accessible for everyone, old or young, together or alone, a busy professional or tourist. The interior design reflects the feeling of being at home at your parents’ house. Eating a nutritious meal at the kitchen table after staying out late or enjoying Sunday brunch with your family. Pure nostalgia but in a luxurious and modern setting.
Walk through the backyard
Everybody is welcome, just like at home. Whether you just want an uitsmijter on the go right before work, have a lunch meeting, or for having a late lunch when visiting an event in the RAI. Just like at your parents’ place, walk in through the backyard. Order at the bar and pay directly. If you are in a rush, eat your uitsmijter standing at the bar, just like in France or Spain. If you want to stay a bit longer and watch some show cooking, you can take place in the ‘kitchen’. If you need a bit more quiet you can walk into the back part of the café. Just eat at your own pace, it’s up to you!
