Why design a space with just one purpose? Thinking about the new generation means creating blurred environments. And that’s what Apto Architects has done in the Bright lab. A space where the ultimate smart adaptivity has been created.

At BRIGHT, new innovations are scouted, tested and immediately applied in the projects of tomorrow. Driven by opportunities to make buildings and cities more sustainable, efficient but also more user-friendly. The platform focuses on new technologies in the sector.

We’ve launched the concept of the ultimate flexibility: a stage for innovation. A place where people of all different backgrounds can test, learn and grow by working together. In the design this means that nothing is fixed on the floor, but everything can be pulled down from the ceiling or is on wheels.

The space is booked in a preset setting to organize activities related to innovation, but at the same time, the space innovates during the activity: thanks to smart sensors in the window frames and the ceilingframe the light-, climate- and air quality settings adapt to the real-time use.

Within a startup community in Amsterdam is one special room: Bright lab. A lab that provides in creating innovation, testing new ideas and sharing the new knowledge.
